An active poster at the CBC.ca website gets an invite to join the NDP

My friend Leo spent a lot of time blogging over at the CBC.ca site about election issues. To make a long story short, Leo got banned from posting at the CBC.ca site and then Leo got this e-mail offer...

I like Leo's response so I'm posting it here. And like Leo, I've never voted for the NDP but feel that I may have to in the upcoming election -- it is a case of Anything but Campbell and besides, the NDP candidate is a very sound fellow in my riding. About the Green, well, I think the Green warrant a classic 7of9 response
You are irrelevant. Your good ideas will be assimilated.
But, I will vote yes on BC-STV to give more parties a chance to be relevant in the future.

Go Leo, go!

Not yet, thanks. The BC NDP - tho not quite as much as the Libs/Gord - facilitated MUCH of the ongoing leaky condo debacle/failed housing economy and have REPEATEDLY! ignored intelligent, non-partisan proposals - like mine - for statutory reform. Similarly, NDP pre-Gord sought to erode provincial disability benefits, which were back then well below proverty level. PLUS you stood idly by as Gord and his Filthy Few legislated a disability appeal process that openly flouts overarching Charter provisions - unforgivable!

Yes, Carole's five-year work, post-secondary forgivable student loan initiative is brilliant but there is NOTHING AT ALL to address today's declining standards in public education or even to allow teachers to tell the truth openly about what are no doubt unreasonable ESL/special needs inclusion policies forcing them to dumb down the curriculum to accommodate challenged students. In the short term, it means local students are unable to compete effectively at home for university spots in the faculties of their choice. In the long term, it means we will not have a sufficiently educated work force to staff the service sector, the only sector that reliably creates wealth.

Perhaps most alarming is the report, Insult to Injury, on WCB's loaded dice claims adjudication policy and procedures, and not even one word from you about how you intend to rectify matters even if you don't make it this time! Why so lily-livered? Do you fully appreciate, I wonder, the swelling legions of a disabled underclass of workers strangely precluded from accessing what are now embarrassing WCB fund surpluses? They are now foisted onto the public rolls, which, these days, allows successful claimants to slowly starve to death in quiet isloation often on the street. Are you somehow OK with all that?

I thought Carole was the clear winner in yesterday's debate, but I cannot possibly join any outfit unless it shows me a workable plan to address the crises set out above. I would, however, be pleased to supply any research required in the process of augmenting your policies accordingly. Call me anytime about this...
